Week of June 15

Monday: class meeting at noon in Teams to go over the final and answer any questions about that work.

Thursday: work day to finish final. Please email me with any questions or if you'd like to meet at noon to ask questions.

Week of June 8, 2020

Here is our schedule for ILS this week:

Monday: if you are struggling and need extra help, please send me an email and I will get on Teams at noon and go over whatever you need with you. If you are doing fine in American Lit and do not need help, please use the ILS time to complete the American Lit assignments.

Thursday: class meeting at noon in Teams to read and discuss chapter 9.

Please review Skyward and make sure you have completed missing assignments in both American Lit and ILS. Again, if you need help figuring out what you need to work on or how to do it, please email me and we can meet on Monday in Teams (in ILS).

Week of June 1, 2020

Here is our schedule for this week:
Monday, June 1--class meeting to finish reading ch 7 (noon on Teams)
Thursday, June 4--class meeting to read ch 8 (noon on Teams)

If you are unable to join the class meeting, you will be assigned an alternate assignment in Teams after the meeting. Look for the assignment to post in Teams later that afternoon.

Week of May 25, 2020

No school on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.

Thursday, 5/28: Live class. We will read and discuss chapter 7. We will meet using Zoom. I will post the info you need to join the class in Teams under the announcement. If you are unable to join us, please complete the alternate assignment listed in Teams after the meeting.

Week of May 18

This week will are reading two chapters of Gatsby, so we will have two class meetings:

Monday, May 18 at noon on Teams (ch 5)
Thursday, May 21 at noon on Teams (ch 6)

If you are unable to join us, make sure to check Teams after the meeting to complete the alternate assignment. I won't upload it until after the meeting so that I can assign it only to those who need to complete it.

Thursday: live class at noon in Teams to read and discuss chapter 4 of Gatsby

Parent/Student Update and Assignments: Week of May 4, 2020

We held a live class meeting on Thursday, April 30, at noon, and it was so fun to see and hear from you! I genuinely miss your faces and your energy. If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can still get all the information we discussed by watching the video of the meeting in Teams. I did have a technical issue, and somehow muted myself, so there is a period of time where the audio drops out. Skip forward, and you'll hear us talking after that part.

What I was trying to explain when the audio dropped out was this:

• Nick was NOT engaged
• He was dating a girl back home (remember, he's from the midwest), and somehow news of their engagement got published in the newspaper. We don't know how this happened, but Nick says that he was not going to let RUMORS of him being engaged actually pressure him to be engaged. This will come up later, so it's important you understand that he is NOT an engaged man.

For the week of May 4, here is your work:

1. Complete the apartment scene assignment in Actively Learn.
2. Attend a live class meeting on Monday, May 4, at noon. We will read and discuss chapter 2 together. To join the meeting, go to TEAMS for ILS at noon, wait for me to start the meeting, then click join. IF YOU DID NOT ATTEND THE CLASS MEETING, PLEASE COMPLETE THE ALTERNATE ASSIGNMENT IN TEAMS.
3. Answer the questions in Actively Learn about chapter 2 (American Lit assignment).
4. Complete this weekly check in assignment AFTER Monday's class meeting but before Wednesday.
5. Attend a live class meeting on Thursday, May 7, at noon, to read and discuss chapter 3. To join the meeting, go to TEAMS for ILS at noon, wait for me to start the meeting, then click join.
